DENTITION (Bhanja)
During the period of dentition children are liable to attacks of fever, diarrhoea, convulsion, etc. Dr. Hering says that during this period constant dribbling and looseness of the bowels may be looked upon a salutary, as these have the effect of preventing congestion of the brain or lungs. Any condition which is however, particularly abnormal should be combated homoeopathicaly.
Therapeutics. Leading indications.
Aconitum napellus — Child cires and whines; constant gnawing at its fingers or fists, or something else. Watery diarrhoea. Characterisitic fever.
Belladonna — Moans and groans a good deal ; starts suddenly from sleep as if frightened ; face and eyes red, head bot. Gums swollen and inflamed. (See the article on Convulsions.).
Calcarea carbonica —Difficult and delayed dentition with characteristic head sweat during sleep; open fontanelles. Abdomen large and hard; cold damp feet. Stools like lumps of chalk or are thin and whitish. Sour vomiting of large curds. (See the article on Convulsions.).
Calcarea phosphorica — Stool green and slimy or thin greenish : great flatulence ; refuses to nurse or nurses ail the time.
Chamomilla — Starting and jumping from sleep ; very irritable, quiet only when carried : stool green, slimy mucus, or like chopped eggs and spinach, smelling like stolen eggs. Gums red and tender ; one cheek red and hot, the other pale and cold.
Cina — Picks, bores into or rubs the nose, cross, peevish restless sleep ; will not sleep without rocking ; white turbid urine ; watery diarrhea containing lumps of white mucus, like pieces of popped corn.
Kreosotum — Very painful dentition. Gums bluish red, soft ; spongy. Great restlessness, wants to be constantly in motion, screaming all night.
Mercurius solubilis — Gums are livid, and discolored ; copious salivation ; profuse sweat at night.
Podophyllum — Rolling of head during dentition ; restless sleep with half-closed eyes ; moaning and whining during sleep. Profuse watery stool gusing oun like water as if through a syringe; stool is quite offensive.
Phytolacca — Wants to continually bile teeth or gums together, or to bite continually on something hard.
Silicea — Rachitic children with large heads ; open fontanelles ; profuse sour-smelling sweat on head ; difficult stool which recedes after, being partly expelled.
Staph.—Child cries for things which are petulantly thrown or pushed away after they have been received ; teeth decay as soon as they are cut (Kreosotum) ; canine hunger even when the stomach is full. Child whines and shrinks at every look or harsh word.

Dentition slow : Calc-c., Calc-р., Fluor-ac., Mag-с., Phyt.
Gums have the appearance of a sac containing water : Apis, Arsen., Krcos. With fever : Acon., Bell, chain., Gels., Rheum.
